Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-10-17 · Version 1.1

These terms are the agreement between you and JuXSThink, the individual in Malaysia who runs StringSong ("we", "us"), for using stringsong.io and the app at app.stringsong.io (the "Service"). By using the Service you accept them. If you do not agree, please do not use it.

1. The Service

StringSong is a music app of original, AI-generated songs performed by fictional virtual singers, with synced lyrics and a music score mode (a score synced to the music, a backing track, a melody playback and slow-down). We may add, change or remove songs, singers and features over time. Some features are labelled as coming soon and are not available yet.

2. Accounts and age

  • You can listen without an account. Syncing likes across devices and playlists need an account, which you create by signing in with Google.
  • You must be at least 13 (or older where your country requires it to consent to online services). If you are under 18, you need a parent or guardian's permission to use the Service and to buy anything if paid plans are offered later, and they accept these terms for you.
  • Keep your Google account secure. You are responsible for what happens under your account; tell us at [email protected] if you think it was misused.
  • You can delete your account at any time in the app (Account & settings → Delete account). See the Privacy Policy for what is deleted.

3. Full access beta, plans and payments

StringSong is in a full access beta for a limited time. During the beta everything in the Service is open to everyone, including signed-in features such as playlists and the music score mode, and no payment is taken: there are no subscriptions, no card details are collected and nothing is billed.

  • Beta, as is. The beta is provided free of charge, "as is" and "as available". Features, limits and the catalogue may change, pause or be removed at any time, and the beta may end.
  • Plans may come later. We may introduce paid plans in future. If we do, we will announce them in the app and on our website before they start, and nothing will be charged unless you clearly choose a paid plan and agree to its price and terms first. These terms will be updated at that time.
  • No automatic charges. Nothing you do during the beta signs you up for a paid plan, and when the beta ends you will not be charged for anything unless you have chosen to buy it.

4. Our content and your licence

The songs, recordings, lyrics, artwork, singer characters, music scores and the app itself ("Service Content") are provided by StringSong. To the extent they are protected by intellectual property rights, those rights belong to us or our licensors. Some AI-generated material may not be protected by copyright in some countries; that does not grant you any rights beyond these terms.

While you follow these terms, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to stream and view the Service Content through the Service, for your own personal, non-commercial listening and music practice. Unless we agree otherwise in writing, you may not:

  • download, copy, record or rip songs, sheets or art outside features we offer;
  • publish, broadcast, sell, sublicense or use them in videos, streams, games, ads or other products;
  • use them to train or fine-tune AI models, or to clone the virtual singers' voices or likeness;
  • claim them as your own or register them with content-ID or royalty services.

Playing a piece from our music scores for yourself, in a lesson or at a private, non-commercial gathering is fine. For anything else (for example a public performance, a cover video or commercial use), ask us at [email protected].

5. Your content

The only things you create in the Service are your playlists (names and song lists) and your likes and follows. You keep any rights you have in them. You give us a limited licence to store and show them to you so the Service can work; we do not publish them. Do not use playlist names for anything unlawful, offensive or that infringes someone else's rights.

6. Acceptable use

Do not: break the law; try to get around any limits or signed links; scrape, crawl or bulk download the Service; interfere with or overload it; probe or attack its security (report issues to [email protected] instead); create accounts by automated means; or resell access.

7. AI-generated content

All songs and singer and album art in StringSong are made with generative AI, and the virtual singers are fictional characters. See our AI & Content Notice. Music scores are produced automatically from the recordings and are approximate: pitch is the priority and rhythm is simplified. Use them as practice material, not as an exact transcription.

8. No warranty

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no promises that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or fit for a particular purpose, or that sheets are accurate. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be excluded by contract under the law that applies to you (including the Malaysian Consumer Protection Act 1999 where it applies).

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses (such as lost profits or data), and our total liability to you for any claim about the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or USD 20 if you have paid nothing. This limit does not apply where the Malaysian Consumer Protection Act 1999 (or similar consumer law that applies to you) does not allow it, and we do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be excluded by law.

10. Suspension and termination

You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, or if the law requires it; where reasonable we will warn you first and tell you why. If we close the Service entirely, we will give reasonable notice and refund the unused part of anything you have prepaid. Sections 4, 8, 9 and 12 continue after termination.

11. Changes

We may update these terms, for example when the beta ends or paid plans are introduced. We will change the date above and, for important changes, tell you in the app or by email before they take effect. If you keep using the Service after that, the new terms apply; if you do not agree, you can stop using the Service and delete your account.

12. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Please contact us first so we can try to solve the problem informally. If that does not work, disputes go to the courts of Malaysia; consumers in Malaysia may also bring a claim to the Tribunal for Consumer Claims Malaysia. If you are a consumer living in another country, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country and may bring a claim in your local courts where that law allows.

13. Contact

[email protected]. These terms are available in English, Chinese and Bahasa Malaysia; if the versions differ, the English version prevails.

Version history: 1.0 (2026-10-16) first public version. 1.1 (2026-10-17) full access beta replaces plans, payments and billing; no payment is taken.
