Coffee for Two

Every morning I make a little more
Two cups waiting by the kitchen door
One for me and one just in case
You walk in smiling with your sleepy face
I know the way you like it, sugar, no foam
Said a hundred times this could be your home
Every morning the second cup goes cold
But I keep making it, the way my heart told

By my heart, by my heart
It's been yours right from the start

So it's coffee for two
Every morning I'm saving one for you
There's a place by the window with a view
And a key in the bowl that's brand new
Yeah it's coffee for two
And I'll keep it warm until you're through
With the doubts and the miles you came through
Come home, there's coffee for two

Told my mama that I found the one
She said take your time, son, love isn't done
Not fast or easy, it's the slow kind
Like a melody that won't leave your mind
So I'll wait right here with the radio on
Singing all your favourite morning songs
And the day you open up that door
You won't have to wait anymore

By my heart, by my heart
It's been yours right from the start

So it's coffee for two
Every morning I'm saving one for you
There's a place by the window with a view
And a key in the bowl that's brand new
Yeah it's coffee for two
And I'll keep it warm until you're through
With the doubts and the miles you came through
Come home, there's coffee for two

Two cups, one morning, me and you
